Benralizumab

 Benralizumab is a monoclonal antibody medication used to treat severe eosinophilic asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. It is sold under the brand name Fasenra.

Eosinophilic asthma is a type of asthma characterized by increased levels of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, in the airways. These eosinophils can contribute to inflammation, leading to severe asthma symptoms and exacerbations. Benralizumab works by targeting and blocking the receptor for interleukin-5 (IL-5), a protein that plays a crucial role in the production and activation of eosinophils.
